Improve your game by learning a new backgammon strategy

One well known backgammon strategy is known as a "priming game." When using this technique, a backgammon player will building a wall of backgammon checkers, (known as a prime) and cover a consecutive number of points, like a solid wall. This can be an escpecially difficult backgammon strategy for opponents to break free from. If they happen to have a checker trapped behind this prime, it can be impossible for a checker to break through. For example, if a player manages to build a 6 point prime, his opponent has 6 space blacked out spaces which his checker cannot land on. And remember, in backgammon, a roll of the backgammon dice cannot be added together. A player must move their checker depending on the number shown on each die (not the amount in total)

Or, if you are looking for a more advanced type of backgammon strategy, why not check out a backgame. This backgammon strategy involves putting two or more anchors in your opponent's home board, while constructing a prime at one's own board. This is done because the anchors can obstruct the opponent's checkers and thus create a wall where they cannot move from.

Both of these strategies are known to be successful. For example, a prime will often lead to a blitz for the player that builds a wall. Consequently, a player will be able to get the majority of their pieces into the final quadrant all at once and this can often lead to a blitz, finished off with a gammon.
